Traineeship in Sports and Fitness

Is the Course for me?

If you are looking to do an Apprenticeship, this course will be your first pathway as you will be in employment for two day's a week whilst also studying English & Maths.

What is involved?

Developing employment skills through verbal communication, completing tasks trimly, team-work, drive, written communication, leadership skills and decision making.
Working two day's a week in the sports industry from 9:00-5:00pm.
Retaking English & Maths.

Work Experience opportunity
As part of the programme you will conduct a two week work placement in a Sport or Fitness environment. This will allow you to apply your theoretical knowledge into a practical work setting. Assignments will also be completed in relation to your work placement.

Volunteer Hours
You will have the opportunity to complete 30 hours working with the college sport enrichment team in supporting sport events, weekly sport and exercise enrichment sessions and supporting activities in the fitness suite.

Enrichment Activities
A range of Enrichment activities are incorporated within the programme. Examples of Enrichment activities conducted are sport activities, workshops, outings and debates. There is also the opportunity to request other enrichment activities that you have an interest in.

i - Learning Sessions
This is additional time embedded in your programme for independent study. This time is used to work through assignments, complete homework activities and conduct wider reading and research to assist learning.

Curriculum Tutorials
Group and one to one tutorials are set up on the programme to further assist you with successfully completing the course. Support tutorials are at flexible times to meet your needs. This could occur during the daytime and evenings.
