Is the Course for me?

Students completing their BTEC Nationals in Applied Law will be aiming to go on to employment, often via the stepping stone of higher education.

What is involved?

Assessment is specifically designed to fit the purpose and objective of the qualification. It includes a range of assessment types and styles suited to vocational qualifications in the sector. There are three main forms of assessment that you need to be aware of: external, internal and synoptic.
The learning programme covers the following content areas:
Dispute solving in civil law
Investigating aspects of criminal law and the legal system.


Entry to many higher education courses. The qualification can also support progression to employment directly, or via an Apprenticeship.

Course Requirements

  • At least 5 GCSE grades A*-C / 9-4, or a relevant Level 2 qualification and Level 2 in English & Maths or GCSE A*-C / 9-4 in English & Maths.
