AAT Level 2 Foundation Certificate in Bookkeeping

Is the Course for me?

The course offers grounding in the core accounting knowledge and skills needed to progress in finance and accounting-related careers, or towards further study by offering development and formal recognition of skills. This course offers an ideal stepping stone to become a qualified accountant technician and/or accountant.

What is involved?

This short course, studied over four months, will equip you with the skills and knowledge needed to manage books effectively – including double entry bookkeeping, and associated documents and processes, up to Trial Balance standard. On successful completion of the course, you will be awarded an AAT Level 2 Foundation Certificate in Bookkeeping. This internationally recognised AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians) qualification enables those working in accounting or those who looking to pursue accountancy as a career to gain knowledge, practical experience and the all-important certification often sought by employers. This qualification can be used as a fast track to the AAT Advanced Diploma in Accounting.

On successful completion of this course, you can progress to higher levels of the AAT Accounting Qualification (Level 3 and then on to Level 4).p>

Course Requirements

  • AAT Level 1 Award in Accounting
  • or
  • Functional Skills Level 1 in English and/or Maths
  • or
  • ESOL Level 1 English and/or Maths
  • or
  • 5 GCSE passes at grade D or above, including English, or where more appropriate Maths, at grade D or Functional Skills in applied communications or where more appropriate applied numeracy at level 1.
  • or
  • A Gateway Certificate/Diploma at level 1 with Functional Skills at level 1.
